For the portal "Stoßwellentherapie in der Praxis" ("Shock wave therapy in practice")

The publisher Level 10 Verlag operates a field-specific information portal for physicians, specialists and interested parties at www.stosswellen-praxis.com - hereinafter referred to as "shock wave portal".

The operation of the "shock wave portal" itself implies that we collect and process certain personal data of our users. Data protection and data security play a key role for us and we observe the provisions of the German Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz) as well as the German Teleservices Act (Telemediengesetz). We collect, process and use personal data in connection with the use of contents and other offers of the "shock wave portal" only to the extent described in the following Privacy Policy.

We will explain below for what purposes and to which extent we will collect, process and use personal data.

Please note: by sending this registration form, you give your consent to the data processing operations described below.

I. Collection and storage of personal data

We will collect and process personal data if you register for the access-restricted part of our portal.  Furthermore, we store data to a certain extent resulting from the use of our website.

1. Inventory data

1.1 When you log in "shock wave portal" after registration via the form with your access data, we will store your data entered with the publisher for administrative reasons. When selecting your booking via our respective international partners, after allocation of your individual user ID and password, we will send your data to the partners of the publisher Level. With this data, you will then be able to get access to "shock wave portal" to all contents under the subscription.

1.2 On the registration form, we ask for the following data in order to allow us to allocate the form:

Users may visit the part of our portal not being subject to registration without the requirement to provide personal data. However, by using a website, data of usage will always be collected:

2.1 Log files

When users visit our website, our web server will store specific data in so-called log files. A log file consists of the start and the end of your visit on our sites, the transmitted data amount and the subpages called up on our website. In this context, we would like to point out as a precaution that our log files do not contain IP addresses. Therefore, our log files are completely anonymous.

2.2 Cookies

As part of our websites, we will use cookies (i.e. small files that are stored via your browser on your hard drive and via which the user may receive certain information).

2.2.1 Via our cookies, we will receive the login data for identification of you as a user, on the one hand.

2.2.2 On the other hand, cookies will be included in our Web Content Management System (Typo 3). Through these cookies, we will receive information on the browser type and its version, the URL clickstream (sequence of pages of our website visited by you), the date and time of your visit on our portal as well as the cookie number, but no personal information or IP addresses of our users. These cookies shall be used for statistical purposes only, in order to learn, for example, which of the contents of our website are accessed the most. This information help us to create categories as "most read" and to design the website in order to be more convenient for our users. Due to the statistical findings on browser type and operating system, we can also optimise our web design.

2.2.3 More cookies or web beacons will be used to collect statistical information, such as the access paths to our portal (display, search option, etc.); hereby, neither personal data nor IP addresses will be collected. Currently, there is cooperation with our partner Joachim Sigwart.

2.3 Usage profiles By confirming the check box to the privacy policies as part of the registration for "shock wave portal" (on the registration form on page Registration), you give your consent to the creation of such a personalised usage profile.

This consent, however, is revocable at any time. Please make use of the opt-out option described hereinafter in item I. 2.5.

2.5. Objection to the collection and storage of data

You may object to data collection and storage according to item I. 2.2 (with the exception of the cookie required for the login) at any time. You may send us an e-mail to mail[at]stosswellen-praxis.com or express your corresponding request in written form.

II. Use of data

1. Inventory data

1.1 General usage of inventory data We will require the inventory data of our users in order to execute the existent contractual relationships with you and to individualise your user account, in order to be able to offer your specific information and to contact you, if necessary.

1.2 Use of the e-mail address

Our international partners and we use your e-mail address in order to contact you in matters regarding your user account and to send you newsletters and/or notifications on specific topics ordered. You may unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time by either sending an e-mail to mail[at]stosswellen-praxis.com or by simply selecting the links at the bottom of the newsletter.

1.3 Transmission of inventory data to third parties

The disclosure of your inventory data to third parties will only be made to our authorised international partners (upon booking by our international partners) and in the following cases:

| if we are required by law or by court order or

| if enquiries of regulatory bodies are dealt with, in particular law enforcement and regulatory bodies, if and insofar this is necessary to prevent threats to public safety and order as well as for the prosecution of criminal offences.

2. Usage data

2.1 General use of usage data

On the one hand, we collect and store log files for security reasons in order to investigate, understand and stop cases of malpractice of our portal. Due to the remaining data and the analyses performed, we will gain other knowledge about how our service is used. We need such knowledge to be able to offer you a secure and user-friendly internet service. On the other hand, it helps us to achieve the technical and editorial optimisation of our platform.

The revocation of your consent will also affect the use of data. The use of usage data as described in this section below will immediately stop after receipt of your revocation.

2.3 No disclosure of personal data

In principle, we disclose personal data:

in particular, we do not disclose any usage or other data of our users according to items I 2.2 and I. 2.3 to companies whose advertising we present, if any, or to other third parties. One exception shall apply to the principles stated above, when evidence is available to us indicating that there is a risk to life and limb of one of our users or third parties or of a serious crime already committed or planned. In these cases, we will provide the corresponding information to the public prosecutor, police as well as other authorities responsible for criminal prosecution or the prevention of crimes.

III. Links to other websites

Our website may contain links to other websites of other, non-affiliated providers. If you click on such a link, we will not have any influence anymore on the processing of any personal data transferred to third parties by clicking these links (such as the IP address and the URL where you will find the link), as any acts of third parties are naturally beyond our control. For this reason, we cannot assume any responsibility for the processing of such personal data carried out by third parties.

IV. Information, correction, deletion, blocking

Upon written or any request communicated in text form, we will give you information at any time which personal data has been stored about you with us. V. Security We use technical and organisational security measures to ensure that personal data of our users is protected against loss, improper modifications or unauthorised access by third parties. In any case, we ensure that additionally, only authorised persons have access to your personal data and this only to the extent that it is required for the above-mentioned purposes. The transfer of data collected during the registration process is encrypted.
